WSVN-TV - 7NEWS Miami Ft. Lauderdale News, Weather, Deco

If you like the unique and unusual when it comes to purses, there's nothing like a Candy bag. From clutches to cross bodies, designer Candy Woolley has definitely got it in the bag. And tonight, it's one of my favorite things.

If you're looking for a purse that's more than just pretty:

Candy Woolley: "This is a clutch, an exotic piece."

Candy Woolley designs are perfect for the South Florida fashionista.

Shireen Sandoval: "Look the detailing on the inside."

We caught up with the beautiful bag lady at Dominque's boutique in Coral Gables.

Shireen Sandoval: "If you had to describe Lynn in a purse, go pick which one it would be."

Candy Woolley: Oh my!

Shireen Sandoval: Okay Lynn, let's see who you are! This is so Lynn!

Candy Woolley: "Completely."

Lynn purse shopping aside.

Dominique Aristondo: "We carry beautiful evening gowns, European sportswear, shoes and beautiful handbags and she is one of my best resources."

Dominique, who has an eye for the rare and wonderful carry's Candy's clutches, totes and cross body bags.

Shireen Sandoval: "Why are your purses so different? I think they happen to be very unique."

Candy Woolley: "Thank you. My purses are different because we put a lot of effort and love into each piece."

Fusing art and tailoring, a Candy bag has superior quality.

Shireen Sandoval: "Tell me where you make them and who helps you out."

Candy Woolley: "My mother Alicia is the soul of the company. She helps me with every single piece that we make, and we make them right here in our studio in Florida."

Shireen Sandoval: "Tell me what attracted you to her bags."

Dominique Aristondo: "The uniqueness, she mixes the leathers beautiful."

Each bag is fabulously lined, has a fetching shape, a far-out color and tantalizing textures.

Candy Woolley: "There are some skins that I do some scratching. I use sandpaper, or paints and different dyes."

No two are exactly the same.

Candy Woolley: "It's a lot of playing around with textures. With the skins, a lot of python and a lot of crocodile and just mixing together shapes and colors and just having fun."
